Shade is 8-2 against Rockwood since February of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Shade Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Rockwood Rockets at 6:00 p.m. Shade is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
Shade suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Thursday. They were dealt a 61-25 defeat at the hands of Blacklick Valley. While losing is never fun, Shade can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 698th, while Blacklick Valley is ranked 192nd).
Meanwhile, Rockwood scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past North Star 71-49. The win was just what Rockwood needed coming off of a 53-31 defeat in their prior game.
Shade bumped their record down to 0-9 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.8 points per game. As for Rockwood, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.
Shade came up short against Rockwood when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 46-37. Can Shade avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
