Camelback won by a set and slipped past Skyline 3-2 with plenty of help from Barron, who had 22 digs and 11 assists. Those 22 digs gave him a new career-high.
Camelback wouldn't go down easily and took Skyline into a fifth set where they got it done with a eight-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-16, 25-23, 18-25, 15-7.
Camelback's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Emmanuel Vega Gonzalez, who had 18 digs and two assists, and Alan Diaz, who had 19 digs, 16 kills, five aces, and three blocks.
Meanwhile, Sunnyside beat Walden Grove 3-1 last Friday.
Sunnyside walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the fourth set). The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-21, 22-25, 25-13.
Sunnyside's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Camelback, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
