The Pajaro Valley Grizzlies will head out on the road to challenge the Monte Vista Christian Mustangs at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Pajaro Valley will be strutting in after a win while Monte Vista Christian will be coming in after a defeat.
Pajaro Valley put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Monday. Everything went their way against Carmel as Pajaro Valley made off with a 5-2 victory. The result kept Pajaro Valley happy, as they haven't lost a game since January 12th.
They were led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Valeria Acosta and
Scarlet Gomez, who scored all five of Pajaro Valley's goals. The pair have combined for a total of 19 so far this season.
Meanwhile, Monte Vista Christian unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 2-0 to Pacific Collegiate. Considering the last time Monte Vista Christian couldn't score was back in December of 2023, the team can't take the result too hard.
Pajaro Valley's win bumped their record up to 9-5-3. As for Monte Vista Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6-3.
Pajaro Valley beat Monte Vista Christian 3-1 when the teams last played back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pajaro Valley since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
