Morro Bay barely beat Santa Ynez the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Morro Bay was the clear victor by a 13-3 margin over Santa Ynez on Thursday. Morro Bay might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by ten runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Jack Deovlet, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Quentin Crotts, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs.

Morro Bay was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .458. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March.

Morro Bay is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Santa Ynez, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Morro Bay will face off against Atascadero at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Greyhounds will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last. As for Santa Ynez, they will take on Nipomo at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Titans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.74 runs per game on average), something the Pirates will no doubt try to take advantage of.
