The Birmingham Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 20 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 68-37 victory over Palisades on the road. The victory was familiar territory for Birmingham who now have four in a row.
Birmingham's win on Thursday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Devyn Berry, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds. That's the first time this season that Berry scored 15 or more points. Lili Martinez was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with nine rebounds.
Birmingham's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Palisades, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.
Birmingham is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Northwestern at 11:30 a.m. on December 27th. Northwestern will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 200th in Florida, while Birmingham is ranked 70th in California). Palisades will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Santa Monica at 6:30 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
