CrossPointe Christian Academy is 1-8 against Central Christian since March of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The CrossPointe Christian Academy Cavaliers will challenge the Central Christian Crusaders at 5:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with CrossPointe Christian Academy sitting on four straight victories and Central Christian on three.
On Tuesday, everything went CrossPointe Christian Academy's way against Peoples Baptist Academy as CrossPointe Christian Academy made off with a 13-3 win. Considering the Cavaliers have won three games by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Luke Smith made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two stolen bases. He is becoming a predictor of CrossPointe Christian Academy's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, Harrison Wilkes was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Evan Diekert, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3.
CrossPointe Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .514 or higher in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Central Christian). They were the clear victor by a 16-4 margin over Praise Academy on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Central Christian pushed their record up to 5-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for CrossPointe Christian Academy, their record now sits at 4-2.
CrossPointe Christian Academy suffered a grim 14-2 defeat to Central Christian in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can CrossPointe Christian Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
