The Conemaugh Valley Blue Jays scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Shade 70-39 at home. That 31 points margin sets a new team best for Conemaugh Valley this season.
Conemaugh Valley found their leader in underclassman Sarah Miller, who scored 22 points along with six steals and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Miller has scored all season. Madison McCleester was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.
Conemaugh Valley's win ended a 19-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-15. As for Shade, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-14.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Conemaugh Valley and Blacklick Valley will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in Blacklick Valley's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five contests. As for Shade, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Meyersdale at 6:00 p.m. Meyersdale is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
