The Lakeside Lancers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 11th straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by Rancho Christian 81-26. Lakeside was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 52-12.
It was another big night for Ebony Taylor-smith, who went 9 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 35 points and 3 assists for Rancho Christian. The match was Taylor-smith's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Alyson Boyd was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with eight rebounds and six assists.
Lakeside bumped their record down to 0-2 with that loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Rancho Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.
Lakeside will head out on the road to face off against Valley View at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rancho Christian won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Morse at 5:30 p.m. on January 6th. Morse will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 98th, while Rancho Christian is ranked 30th).
