Douglas Byrd hasn't had much luck against South View recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Douglas Byrd has given up an average of 9.9 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
It was a Battle of the Birds when Douglas Byrd took on Seventy-First on Tuesday. The Eagles fell 11-6 to the Falcons.

Malachi McDuffie led a balanced group of hitters, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three doubles, and two RBI. He has been hot, having posted two or more stolen bases the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jeff Turner, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between South View and Pine Forest, and South View kept the tradition alive. The Tigers were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over the Trojans on Tuesday. Considering the Tigers have won five matchups by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Jayden Jackson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Jackson was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, South View got a big performance out of Malachi Jones, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs. Trey Ray was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
South View is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Douglas Byrd, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Douglas Byrd has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .495. However, it's not like South View struggles in that department as they've averaged .466. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Douglas Byrd might still be hurting after the 21-0 defeat they got from South View in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
