Vinita came out on top against Sequoyah  on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run first inning. The Hornets took their   matchup against the Eagles   6-3. The Hornets have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.
 CC Carter made a splash no matter where she played. She  tossed four innings while giving up just one earned  (and two unearned) runs off   three  hits. Carter was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with three  RBI, one  triple,  and one  run.
 In other batting news,  Rylee Brown was  excellent,  going 1-for-3 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  double.
With the  victory, Vinita broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-3. As for Sequoyah, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
 Vinita wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next  contest,  a  5-2  win against Chelsea on the 15th. As for Sequoyah, they have also already played their next game,  a  13-6  loss against Pawhuska on the 15th.
