The Sonoma Valley Dragons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Las Lomas Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Sonoma Valley hasn't scored more than a single run for three games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.
On Thursday, Sonoma Valley didn't have quite enough to beat Justin-Siena and fell 2-1.
Luciano Hernandez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits.
On the hitting side, Sonoma Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wyatt Hinman, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Las Lomas, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Albany with a sharp 9-3 win on Wednesday. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Las Lomas also got a great performance from Noah Sison as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Sison also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Las Lomas is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-2-1 otherwise.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jack Foscalina, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Jack Pardella was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.
Sonoma Valley's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Las Lomas, the win got them back to even at 3-3-1.
Sonoma Valley came out on top in a nail-biter against Las Lomas in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Will Sonoma Valley repeat their success, or does Las Lomas has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
