Linn hadn't done well against Fatima recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Wildcats came out on top against the Comets by a score of 6-1. Winning may never get old, but the Wildcats sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Sophia Voss made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in October of 2024.
In other batting news, Emma Starke was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Elli Dudenhoeffer, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.
Linn hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least two batters every time they've taken the field this season.
Linn's record now sits at 6-2. As for Fatima, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
