The Foresthill Wildfires stacked a 14th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They blew past Encina Prep 60-34. Given Foresthill's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 596th, while Encina Prep is ranked 1267th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Addy Aldrich was her usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with eight assists and five steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 12 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Kalb, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and five assists.
Despite the loss, Encina Prep saw an underclassman step up: Khaliah McDonald almost dropped a triple-double on 13 points, ten rebounds, and nine steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points McDonald has scored all season.
Foresthill has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. As for Encina Prep, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Foresthill will play host again and welcome Victory Christian, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Victory Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 19 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Encina Prep, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Sacramento Waldorf at 6:00 p.m. Sacramento Waldorf's defense has only allowed 29.7 points per game this season, so Encina Prep's offense will have their work cut out for them.
