Their rough 31-10 defeat to Dominguez might stick with them for a while. Compton Early College lost against Dominguez in their previous head to head back in February of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 54-27 score last time.
Among those leading the charge was Ariel Walker, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Dominguez's points. Ashley Cruz was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 3 steals.
Compton Early College's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Dominguez, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Compton Early College will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Summit View West at 3:00 p.m. As for Dominguez, they will square off against Compton at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Compton is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
