Madera South has been on the road for three straight, but on Monday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Fresno Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Friday, Madera South earned a 34-27 victory over the Highlanders. The win was just what Madera South needed coming off of a 58-35 defeat in their prior matchup.
Madera South's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was BRIANNAH LORTA, who scored 15 points. That makes it six consecutive games in which LORTA has scored at least a third of Madera South's points. The team also got some help courtesy of JALISSA KIRKPATRICK, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Fresno waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They blew past Sanger West, posting a 64-34 victory at home. Given Fresno's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 330th, while the Hornets are ranked 977th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Madera South's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-15. As for Fresno, their victory bumped their record up to 18-8.
