The Minarets Mustangs will square off against the Chowchilla Tribe at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Minarets is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Madera South 13-3 on Wednesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Mustangs as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Minarets got a great performance from Logan Meyer as he tossed five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Meyer also tossed a walk, which is notable because the Mustangs are 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 6-14 otherwise.
At the plate, Torin Wolf and Aidan Johnson did most of the damage at the plate: Wolf got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Johnson went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double. That's the most runs Wolf has posted since back in March. Ethan Akins was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Minarets always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Chowchilla won against Dos Palos on Thursday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Tribe didn't even let Minarets on the board, marking the Tribe's second-straight 11-0 shutout. The Tribe might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.
Chowchilla let Zayden Kobzoff and Tristan Beardsley run wild. Kobzoff went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and three runs, while Beardsley went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Dillon Watkins, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
The win was the third in a row for Chowchilla, bringing their record up to 11-12. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Minarets, their win bumped their record up to 8-15.
