After a string of three wins, the Junction City Dragons's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell just short of Hamburg by a score of 56-54. Junction City was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Hamburg apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2018.
Junction City's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Montra Hankton, who scored 22 points along with three steals, and Deontae James who scored 16 points. The match was Hankton's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Dovonte ?Woody? Grimes, who scored six points.
Junction City's loss dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Hamburg, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Junction City won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Harmony Grove at 6:30 p.m. on December 12th. One thing working in Harmony Grove's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matchups. As for Hamburg, they will head out on the road to face off against McGehee at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
