The Uniontown Red Raiders lost against the Laurel Highlands Mustangs back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Uniontown took a hard 50-34 fall against Laurel Highlands. Uniontown has not had much luck with Laurel Highlands recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Uniontown lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Emily Myers, who scored 14 points. Lyric McLee was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Uniontown bumped their record down to 5-9 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.8 points per game. As for Laurel Highlands, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-1.
Uniontown will head out on the road to square off against Elizabeth Forward at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Elizabeth Forward is coming into the game hot, having won their last ten games. As for Laurel Highlands, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Southmoreland at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Southmoreland will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 618th, while Laurel Highlands is ranked 96th).
