Softball Recap: North Posey Extends Winning Streak to Eight

North Posey waltzed into their match on Tuesday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They blew past the Pike Central Chargers 12-6. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.

Paige Vaughn was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Versteeg, who went 1-for-2 with one home run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: North Posey kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive contests.

North Posey's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-4. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Pike Central, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

North Posey wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 5-4 defeat against Boonville on the 15th. As for Pike Central, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-6 loss against Forest Park on the 15th.
