Rio Mesa has been struggling as of late, and they have yet to win a game this season. They came up short against the Alta Loma Braves on Friday, falling 4-1. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 692nd, while the Braves are ranked 182nd).

Rio Mesa's loss dropped their record down to 0-5-2. As for Alta Loma, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-5 record.

Rio Mesa will take on Warren in a tournament on Saturday. As for Alta Loma, they will be taking part in a tournament against La Serna at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. La Serna's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
