Clovis had lost three games at home, but after bumping their record up to 3-7 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. They snuck past the Alamogordo Tigers with a 48-43 victory. The Wildcats' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Sandro Cordova threw for 146 yards and two touchdowns. Ethan Gutierrez was his top target, picking up 58 receiving yards and one score. On the ground, John Royal rushed for 67 yards and one TD.
As for Alamogordo, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. Despite 334 more yards than Clovis, Alamogordo couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
Alamogordo lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Nathanael Best, who rushed for 196 yards and one TD while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. Bryson Bloom also helped out as he racked up 205 rushing yards.
