Valor Academy will head out to square off against the Triumph Charter Jaguars at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Valor Academy will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Valor Academy had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 14-run drubbing they dealt Bert Corona Charter on Friday. Valor Academy blew past Bert Corona Charter 20-6. That looming 20-6 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Valor Academy yet this season.
Daniel Silva made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

Valor Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .800. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Sun Valley Magnet hit Triumph Charter with a four-run second inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Jaguars came up short against the Pioneers, falling 9-3. The loss continues a trend for the Jaguars in their meetings with the Pioneers: they've now lost five in a row.
Triumph Charter saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Simon Trujillo, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Valor Academy's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Triumph Charter, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Valor Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 16.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Triumph Charter struggles in that department as they've been averaging 10.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Valor Academy suffered a grim 12-1 defeat to Triumph Charter in their previous meeting back in March. Can Valor Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
