The Ridgemont Golden Gophers lost against the Upper Scioto Valley Rams back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Ridgemont took a 40-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of Upper Scioto Valley. Ridgemont has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Upper Scioto Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brielle Cotterman led the charge by scoring nine points along with 21 rebounds. Cotterman is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Layla Hunsicker, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Ridgemont's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Upper Scioto Valley, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-10.
Ridgemont on the road again on Saturday and play against Ridgedale at 10:00 a.m. on January 20th. As for Upper Scioto Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Arlington at 12:00 p.m. Arlington is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
