They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 32-30 victory over Blair County Christian. For Clearfield Alliance Christian, this counts as revenge for the 28-20 defeat Blair County Christian walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2016.
Blair County Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lydia Hileman, who scored four points along with 14 rebounds and nine blocks. Those 14 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabi Dull, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three blocks.
Clearfield Alliance Christian's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Blair County Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clearfield Alliance Christian will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Johnstown Christian at 5:30 p.m. on February 6, 2024.
