Football Recap: Eureka Extends Winning Streak to Two

Eureka won the last time they faced Bluestem and Peyton Hare did his part to make sure it happened again. The Tornadoes took down the Lions 30-12 on Friday with plenty of help from Hare, who rushed for 180 yards and three TDs on only 13 carries, and also threw for 72 yards and one touchdown. His longest rush was for an incredible 77 yards.

Although Bluestem took the loss, they still got scores from Axton Vice and Ayson Shepherd.

The win made it two in a row for Eureka and bumps their season record up to 4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 18 points in those games. As for Bluestem, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Looking ahead, Eureka will head out to challenge West Franklin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tornadoes will be up against the Falcons' rather soft defense (which has allowed 55.4 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Bluestem, they will welcome Humboldt at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions will be up against the Cubs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 35 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
