The Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences Vipers lost against the Sherman Oaks CES Knights back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences had to suffer through a rough 73-31 loss at the hands of Sherman Oaks CES. It was the first time this season that Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences let down their fans at home.
Despite the loss, Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences still got an impressive performance from Angelina Beshara, who scored 16 points. Beshara scored a full 51.6% of Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences' points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Crystal Pasaye was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Sherman Oaks CES got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Neriah Adjei out in front who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. Adjei also scored 15+ points for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Samantha Briones, who scored 15 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences' defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-3. As for Sherman Oaks CES, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.
Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences will square off against El Camino Real at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. El Camino Real presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences in California (El Camino Real is ranked 246th, while Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences is ranked 737th). As for Sherman Oaks CES, they will be playing at home against Vaughn at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Vaughn comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
