Kartje was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run and  stealing three bases while going 2-for-4. That's the most  hits  he has posted since back in April of 2024.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Mason Bastien, who  scored five  runs and  stole five bases while  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances. That's the most  runs  he has posted since back in April of 2024.  Austin Hunter was another key player,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
 Murphysboro  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .610. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Anna-Jonesboro only posted  an  OBP of  .346.
 Meanwhile, Crystal Lake South made easy work of Boylan Catholic  on Friday and carried off  a  10-3 victory. The Gators haven't had any issues with the Titans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive  win against them.
 Murphysboro now  has a winning record of 4-3. As for Crystal Lake South,  the  victory  got them back to even at 1-1.
