The North Central Knights came tearing into Thursday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Creighton by a score of 50-41. That's another feather in the cap for North Central, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
North Central found their leader in underclassman Mya Lewis, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 16 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lewis has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Morgan Lewis, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
North Central's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.7 points per game. As for Creighton, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.
North Central will head out on the road to challenge Neligh-Oakdale at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Neligh-Oakdale focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 33 last Tuesday. Creighton will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on O'Neill at 6:00 p.m. on February 5th. Hopefully O'Neill focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Thursday.
