Soquel put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the Carmel Padres 11-4. The Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Padres, too.
Luke Shoemaker looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, Soquel let Enzo Goff and Jake Escalante run wild. Goff scored two runs while going 1-for-3, while Escalante scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4. Sam Whelan was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Soquel kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carmel only managed four hits.
Soquel's win bumped their record up to 3-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Soquel will face off against Woodside at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Soquel knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Woodside likes a good challenge. As for Carmel, they will be playing at home against Aptos at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
