Despite the loss, Verdugo Hills still got an impressive performance from Jered Smith, who threw for 257 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 39 yards. 87 of Smith's passing yards were hauled in by Aiden Mejia, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
