Baseball Recap: Linden Now 5-1 over Last Six Games

Linden barely beat Calaveras the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Linden never let Calaveras get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory on Thursday. Considering the Lions have won five games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Linden's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Schallberger, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Brody Black was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Linden is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. Calaveras' loss dropped their record down to 3-11.

Linden wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 7-1 win against Summerville on the 28th. As for Calaveras, they have also already played their next game, a 9-2 victory against Riverbank on the 28th.
