The Union Area Scotties had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They breezed by Cornell at home to the tune of 56-23. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 39-14.
Lucas Stanley continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 19 points along with five rebounds and five steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Union Area's points. Dayne Johnke was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with three steals.
Union Area's win bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Cornell, their loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-7.
Union Area will be playing at home against Western Beaver at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cornell, they will head out on the road to face off against Avella at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
