Two dominant guards in Ruiqi Liu and Jemma Lacap are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Menlo School Knights will be playing at home against the Crystal Springs Uplands Gryphons at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Menlo School is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Gryphons in California (the Knights are ranked 198th, while the Gryphons are ranked 409th).
Menlo School unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They were the victim of a rough 66-43 loss at the hands of Priory.
Despite the defeat, Menlo School had strong showings from Arthi Abhyanker, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds, and Liu, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Crystal Springs Uplands came into Monday's game having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Notre Dame by a score of 54-46 on Monday. The victory was just what Crystal Springs Uplands needed coming off of a 85-31 defeat in their prior matchup.
Menlo School's loss dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Crystal Springs Uplands, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-9.
Menlo School beat the Gryphons 39-30 in their previous matchup back in January. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Lacap, who scored 20 points along with four steals.
