The Upper Darby Royals's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They were beaten by Garnet Valley 67-35. Upper Darby was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-18.
Haylie Adamski was her usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with five rebounds and three steals for Garnet Valley. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Adamski has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Saunders, who scored six points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Upper Darby has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Garnet Valley, the win (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 17-2.
Upper Darby will be playing in front of their home fans against the Pioneers at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Conestoga presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Royals in Pennsylvania (the Pioneers are ranked fifth, while the Royals are ranked 400th). As for Garnet Valley, they will head out on the road to take on the Fords at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Haverford is on a five-game streak of home wins, the Jaguars a seven-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
