The La Jolla Vikings had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They really took it to Canyon Hills for the full four quarters, racking up a 57-24 victory at home. With La Jolla ahead 35-11 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead La Jolla to victory, but perhaps none more so than Isabella Policaro, who scored 12 points along with two steals. Policaro has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Bennett, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds.
La Jolla's victory bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Canyon Hills, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season.
La Jolla will square off against High Tech SD at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. High Tech SD will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive. As for Canyon Hills, Canyon Hills and Hoover will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
