The Marshall Eagles will challenge the Rowland Raiders at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with six losses in a row, Marshall turned things around against Santa Clarita Christian on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Cardinals 9-8. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Elijah Lain was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Liam Wahlstrom, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those runs were his first of the season.
While Rowland didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on Gabrielino with a sharp 8-2 victory on Tuesday. Considering the Raiders have won four games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
David Garcia was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs. Rick Morrisseau was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Marshall's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Rowland, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Marshall has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Rowland struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Marshall suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Rowland when the teams last played back in February. Will the Eagles have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
