Baseball Recap: Seckinger Sets Scoring Season-High Against Lanier

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Seckinger). They put the hurt on the Lanier Longhorns with a sharp 12-3 win on Friday. The Jaguars haven't had any issues with the Longhorns recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Seckinger got a great performance from Landon Niemotka as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over 4.2 innings pitched. Niemotka has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Sam Melanson was a standout: he scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of EJ Hannah, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-1.

Seckinger's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Lanier, they dropped their record down to 3-7 with the loss, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Seckinger didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-2 victory against Duluth on the 3rd. As for Lanier, they have also already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Chattahoochee on the 3rd.
