The Lincoln Fighting Zebras waltzed into their game on Tuesday with nine straight wins but they left with ten. They strolled past West Park with points to spare, taking the game 67-53. Given Lincoln's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 168th, while West Park is ranked 457th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lincoln got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Maya Hodge out in front who scored 25 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Hodge has scored at least a third of Lincoln's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Hodge, who scored 16 points.
West Park lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Annalyse Braden, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds. Lynae White was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Lincoln is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season. As for West Park, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lincoln will take on Placer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for West Park, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Nevada Union at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
