It was a good run, but  Liberty unfortunately witnessed the end of their  three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Rodriguez Mustangs by a score of  5-4. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in March of 2024.
 Jake Farr was a  force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he  tossed six innings while giving up  three earned  (and one unearned) runs off   five  hits.
 At the plate,  Dominic Staben was cooking despite his team's loss,   going a perfect 3-for-3 with three  RBI, one  triple,  and one  run. He also  hit a  double, marking his first of the season.
Liberty's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Rodriguez, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record  this season.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Liberty will face off against Antioch at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Rodriguez, they will square off against Fairfield at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday.
