Natalie Cable was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She struck out 14 batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3.
Cable wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Olivia Anderson, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.
Bloomingdale's loss dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Newsome, the victory (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 15-3.
