Baseball Recap: Fallbrook Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After low-scoring totals in their previous three game, Fallbrook brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They came out on top against the Rancho Buena Vista Longhorns by a score of 10-6 on Saturday. This was a revenge game for the Warriors: when they faced off against the Longhorns on Thursday, they had to take a 2-1 loss.

Isaiah McMillian made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

In other batting news, Teague Lucy and Evan Thomas did most of the damage at the plate: Lucy got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run, while Thomas got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Thomas is becoming a predictor of Fallbrook's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-2 (and 4-9 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Camden Hoff, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Fallbrook hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 4-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

The win snapped Fallbrook's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-11 record. As for Rancho Buena Vista, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-14.
