The Branham Bruins on the road again on Tuesday and play against the Evergreen Valley Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Branham didn't have too much trouble with Leland on the road as they won 56-41. Given Branham's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 25th, while Leland is ranked 252nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Branham's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Gina Shim, who scored 15 points, and Quinn Godfrey, who scored 24 points.
Meanwhile, Evergreen Valley waltzed into their game on Thursday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They walked away with a 49-42 win over Christopher.
Branham pushed their record up to 15-1 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Evergreen Valley's record is now 13-5.
Branham was able to grind out a solid win over Evergreen Valley in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, winning 57-50. Will Branham repeat their success, or does Evergreen Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
