Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only East Union walked away with it. They walked away with a 45-36 victory over the Lincoln Fighting Zebras on Thursday. The Lancers are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 12 straight.
East Union's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ava Barrera, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 15 rebounds. That's the most boards Barrera has posted since back in December of 2024. Haven Stone was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to five assists and four steals.
East Union smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive games.
Despite the loss, Lincoln had strong showings from TAYLOR HODGE, who put up 13 points and eight rebounds, and TAYLOR BUTLER, who scored four points along with ten blocks and eight boards. BUTLER is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in each of the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of LACIE BROWN, who earned eight points.
East Union's win bumped their record up to 23-6. As for Lincoln, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-10.
East Union has already played their next contest, a 63-51 loss against Ponderosa on the 25th. Lincoln does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
