After a string of nine wins, the Sleepy Eye Indians's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They suffered a rough 68-45 defeat at the hands of Springfield. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Sleepy Eye has scored all season.
Springfield's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Noah Vogel led the charge by scoring 13 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ben Potter, who scored 17 points along with two steals.
Sleepy Eye's loss dropped their record down to 11-2. As for Springfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sleepy Eye will challenge Westbrook-Walnut Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Springfield, they will head out on the road to take on Cedar Mountain at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
