Mason Melcher was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
