Softball Recap: Storm Lake Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Storm Lake had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Saturday. They blew past the Le Mars Bulldogs 10-3. The Tornadoes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by seven runs or more this season.

Storm Lake's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-4. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Le Mars, their loss dropped their record down to 23-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Storm Lake will face off against MOC-Floyd Valley at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Le Mars, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Sioux City West at 5:30 p.m. The Bulldogs are facing the Wolverines at the right time seeing as the Wolverines are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
