The Sylmar Spartans put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on Reseda with a sharp 68-42 win. Given Sylmar's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 130th, while Reseda is ranked 579th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Mia Ceja continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 20 points. Another player making a difference was Vivianna Alvarado, who scored 13 points.
Sylmar's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Reseda, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.
Sylmar will be playing at home against Panorama at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Panorama focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 on Wednesday. As for Reseda, they will head out on the road to face off against San Fernando at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. San Fernando is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
