The JW North Huskies are taking a road trip to challenge the Poly Bears at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Having struggled with three losses in a row, JW North turned things around against Tahquitz on Thursday. The two teams finished up on equal footing with a 6-6 draw.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Poly). Everything went their way against Oak Hills on Wednesday as they made off with a 13-1 win. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Carter Athens looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Poly got a massive performance out of Matt Henry, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs Henry has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Gavin Malmberg, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Poly was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oak Hills only posted a batting average of .222.
Poly now has a winning record of 3-2. JW North's tie gives them a new season record of 1-3-1.
