The Beyer Patriots are taking a road trip to challenge the Central Valley Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Beyer is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
Beyer barely beat Livingston the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Beyer blew past Livingston 15-9 on Tuesday. That looming 15-9 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Patriots yet this season.
The team relied heavily on Matthew Correia, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-5. Jacob Towe was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
Correia wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Beyer kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Central Valley narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Pacheco 5-4. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Hunter Shaw looked comfortable as he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Central Valley's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Carter Hernandez, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI. Another was Chris Garcia, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Central Valley's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Beyer, their record is now 5-2.
Beyer took their victory against Central Valley in their previous matchup back in February of 2015 by a conclusive 18-3. Will Beyer repeat their success, or does Central Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
