Baseball Recap: Lincoln Extends Winning Streak to Three

Lincoln waltzed into their contest on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 9-4 victory over the Silver Creek Raiders. The Lions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Raiders, too.

Lincoln got a great performance from Cole Stromberg as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over 5.1 innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave Stromberg a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lorenzo Collazo, who scored a run while going 1-for-4. Braden Alvarez was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Lincoln's win bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Silver Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 7-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lincoln will head out to face off against Live Oak at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Live Oak will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Lincoln surely won't give up without a fight. As for Silver Creek, they will venture away from home to challenge San Jose at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. San Jose has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.25 runs per game on average), something Silver Creek will no doubt try to take advantage of.
